Carolin Comberti
Mezzo soprano

Carolin is available for bookings to sing at weddings, funerals and special events. She is also a fine oratorio singer for any choral societies needing a strong mezzo soprano soloist.

She puts on concerts in Hospitals, Old Peoples homes, hospices and children's homes, a service that revives the listeners, when they hear familiar songs, to memories of happier times, thus causing emotional and physical uplift and release from pain. She welcomes any bookings from other establishments of a similar nature.

Carolin has also devised programmes of healing music for fund-raising concerts to promote peace and welcomes invitations from any organisations that would welcome and support such an event.

Carolin was told by her parents that she sung before she spoke. She has had a passion for singing in all its forms ever since. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Duncan Robertson and Laura Sarti, and then privately with Jessie Cash. In opera she has sung professionally with English National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Kent Opera, Opera Rara and a small touring chamber opera company Opera Roundabout.

Carolin is an experienced recitalist having worked with the Elysium Ensemble, which took historically related concerts of music and verse to Stately Homes. With the Cappricio Ensemble, a chamber group formed with her ex husband the cellist Sebastian Comberti and the pianist Jose Feghali, she also took part in recitals all over the country.

She also worked as a soloist with the Council for Music in Hospitals. She now offers healing concerts on Old Peoples Homes, Hospices and Children's Homes. She would love to become a "singing troubadour" performing healing concerts in troubled areas of the world to promote peace and a raising of human consciousness. She performs an eclectic and wide range of music, from classical, opera, oratorio, folk, to blues and popular show songs,

Operatic roles:

Dorabella, Cherubino, Idamante, Sextus and Annio, Octavian, Meg, La Cenerentola, Rosina, various Handel roles.

German lieder, French chanson, Italian bel canto, Elizabethan lute songs, Purcell, Monteverdi, Scarlatti cantatas, Folk songs of the British Isles, English 20thC art songs.

Jazz/ Blues/ Musicals/ Popular:

Carolin has a wide knowledge of popular music, blues and jazz, from Cole Porter and Gershwin, songs from the musicals to contemporary popular. She relishes the chance to get her teeth, or rather her vocal cords, into smoky night-club styles of music, performing them with flare.

Sound healing Improvisations:

Carolin now takes healing music round to Care Establishments. For this she invites players of didgeridoo, monochord, Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls, North American flute, gongs and drums to join her while she improvises with her overtone chanting. These sounds have been proven to bring the listeners into different states of consciosness, when the brain-waves slow down to meditative states and induce a sense of deep calm and peace. It is very therapeutic and soothing and can have profound effects on the mental, physical and emotional realms of the listener (see under Sound Healing section for more information).

In May 2007 Carolin embarked on a 500 mile long pilgrimage walk across the Michael and Mary lines, 2 major earth energy lines (see section Awakening Albion)which stretch from the coasts of Cornwall to Norfolk. After this experience, when she sang at every point where the lines intersected, she has come to realise that it is possible to have a healing effect on the earth through using her voice with healing intention and focus. This is work that she is developing and researching.
